4/5/2008: Thanks for a kick butt website and that video rocks. I was an eighteen year old kid in 1970 . A friend was going to sell me his 52 panhead chopper . I saved up the money and went to buy it and he had changed his mind. I went home depressed and dejected . My father told me to hell with an old bike ,lets go get a new one. He took me to Dutrows Honda in Frederick ,Md, and I bought the first K1 model on the east coast in the fall of 1970. The only problem I had with the bike was getting out of parking lots. Everytime I stopped crowds would gather to talk and gawk. I traded in a CB77 Super hawk that I had rebuilt for it. Sold it 80,000 miles and ten years later to a friend. I took it to Daytona with my girl friend, now my wife of 36 years. I got a K4 a couple of years ago and in spite of four other bikes in my garage the old CB750 is still the fastest and the most fun to drive. Getting on it and riding feels as natural as putting on an old pair of "Chucks".When it's to cold to ride I just go out and start it up to listen to it rumble. My neighbor (who has way more money than me) has a Porsche turbo cabrio, and some sort of Ferrari soft top and my old K4 with 4into two straight pippes makes them sound downright anemic.Once again thanks and I'll be joinin' up real soon.

Dan Benson in Myersville,Md.ps I gotta get a dvd of that discovery show.

8/10/03:With reference to the "SOHC it to me" poster I sent to you. It's not an original of mine. I found it on the net somehwere and fell in love with it. I have downloaded it to my hard drive. It is a high resolution image which prints out beautifully. I have done quite a few A3 copies, laminated them, and given them to CB750 friends. If anyone would like it e-mailed to them they can contact me spear@hwy.com.au to request same. I'd be glad to send it on.

Cheers, Steve in Oz

7/29/03:I am the guy that sent you the photo of my drag bike with the pretty girl seated on it. Just a quick note to tell you she was thrilled to be the first " model" ! Aneta is visiting me from Poland and has enjoyed her stay here very much but this was an added plus. Best of luck on the club and let me know if you folks ever get down to Oceanside for a ride, as you can see my bike is a hardtail and I doubt that I'll ever want to ride through L.A. to get to the valley but I'm always interested in something down in my neck of the woods.

Bruce

Ed: Bruce, how 'bout a suggestion for a ride in your neck of the woods?

7/28/03:Found your site through Cycle World. Had a gold KO in the old days. Still have a 1980 Black CBX with 55k miles on it that looks brand new. I would love to find another gold KO. Got any leads? The one in your photo gallery would do as it is identical to the one I had.

Hi from London,England..hows it going.....? Congratulations on your site......its great to see increasing interest in these great bikes and over here in Europe, things are hotting up all the time, and many people are building CR750 replica race bikes. I have the first UK CB750....Frame number 1010369.made in 10/69 and first used here in Jan 1970. Have you ever found out the lowest surviving frame number in the US ....? We didnt get any original sandcasters, but there are many here now...via the US and Canada. Over the years I have seen some very interesting photos of early US bikes that are very different to those we got in Europe........and pre-prod prototypes...maybe there are some left out there in the US..? There are 4/5 CB750 books available in Europe...the latest is by Mick Duckworth and has my bike on the front cover....great book...just out. I have a very old copy of a CB750 FOUR CLUB booklet from about 1973 from LA.....know anything about the club ...?

Well, thats about it for now, but keep up the good work

Catch you soon Have a good one and ride safe Eamon Maloney London

My name is Robert Rosen. I used to be a member of the old CB 750 preservation society. Now seeing a little write up in FREE 2 WHEEL I am happy to see that the club is back up on its feet. Speaking to Kurt yesterday he suggested to send you an EMAIL...and count me in again. Next to some other vintage japanese bikes from the early 70`s I still owe my two CB 750 K1. One in gold the other in red. And I have to admitt the CB 750 is my favourite motorcycle of all time...MY FIRST LOVE. But that is another story and I do not mind to write some day a little story for all members to enjoy "my first love" experience. Too bad that I missed the first ride out to the Rock Store.

long live the CB 750, Robert

Hello, I read about your website/organization in the August issue of Cycle World. I am a long time fan of the 750 sohc and wanted to send you a picture I took of my K6 before storing it prior to leaving for Germany. Since the picture was taken (and arriving in Europe) I have purchased several polished aluminum pieces: a tank, front fender, and headlight brackets. I've also bought some used Konis, a box-section swingarm, a different cafe seat, a chrome headlight, and braided lines for the front brakes. I also purchased a nitrous kit (off of eBay) for a 600 Kawasaki (with 10 oz. cheater bottle) that I will experiment with when I return.

As you can see from the picture, I have modified the bike. It has an ATP turbo, and has had the internals modifed with MTC aluminum rods and cylinder studs, S&W valve springs, F1 pistons (stock 736 displacement), and polished valves, combustion chambers, and intake tracts. The clutch is a Barnett unit. The wheels are Hayashi, the fork is a modified F1 (S&W springs, modified dampner rods, and air fork caps), and the rear brake and swing arm are from an F1 as well. Rear master cylinder is a Hurst-Airheart. The sidecovers are obviously polished aluminum. Good luck with your venture!
